Individuality through customer-specific fields

When introducing SAP Business ByDesign, not everything can be adapted identically from the old processes of the predecessor system. Although the ByD-ERP system already offers a wide variety of different fields, some customers wish to have further fields for company-specific data.

SAP Business ByDesign provides the option of compiling any number of customer-specific fields per area. There are various types of fields that can be selected in this context:

It is not important whether these fields are to appear on one form or are only intended for another query and hence remain invisible in the background. Calculated fields are popular for the background query, these allowing you to combine diverse values any way you like, so as to be able to generate a certain code for example. As is the case for all standard fields – these fields can also be transferred to forms.

The program “Adobe LiveCycle Designer” is required for customization.

First the design of the relevant form and a field need to be added here in the area where the desired content is to be displayed. The field can now be linked to the desired data binding, so that the selected data can be transferred directly from the customer-specific field in Sap directly to the form.

These individually adapted forms – whether a customer invoice or a delivery note for instance – can now be sent directly to the customer as a printout containing all information you require.
