The SAP Business ByDesign What’s New blog gives you an overview about the new and changed features of SAP Business ByDesign 1902.
Financial Management
- DATEV Extract – A new option has been added to enable the output of net amounts plus tax posting line in addition to existing behaviour (gross amounts with tax sign).
- IFRS 15 – Set SSP via PDI or API in CRM – It is now possible to set the Standalone Selling Price in CRM.
- Bank Statements – Attachments can now be added to posted bank statements.
Supplier Relationship Management
• NEW
o Set Default Invoice Template – Template for company / supplier combination used for supplier invoice scanning via collaboration window.
o Product ID as Approval Condition Type – Supported for Shopping Cart, Purchase Request, Purchase Order, Goods and Service Acknowledgement, Supplier Invoice and Request for Quote.
o Product Category Condition for Shopping Cart Workflow Rules added
o Enhancements of Data Sources – Cost Object ID added to Shopping Cart Data Sources.
o Return Reason and Follow-up Decision added in Return to Supplier Data Source

o Approval by Cost Center Manager Based on Superordinate Cost Center for Supplier Invoice – For supplier invoices assigned to a project task w/o cost center, project summary task cost center will be used (instead of creating an unassigned task).
Project Management
• NEW
o Change Project Task Assignment of Time Confirmations – A project lead needs to prepare a project invoice request. The project task assignments of some time recordings need to be adjusted and the project team members are not available.
o Approvals for Expenses and Purchases – Expense and purchase approvals view comprises supplier invoices and project purchase requests.
o Printable Forms for Project Invoicing – Additional remarks from Intercompany expense report available in project invoice request itemized list.
o Report Enhancements – Report „Revenue by Team Member“ enhanced with project responsible and currency conversion.
o Changed Handling of Currency Changes – Changing the currency during the project purchase request creation no longer overwrites the currency.
o Change Project Task Assignment – Time recording reassignment already rejected if the recording is used in an „in preparation“ project invoice request as opposed to a „released“ one earlier.
o Copying of Texts – „Cancel and copy“ project invoice request copies associated texts from the cancelled document, no longer from the sales order.
o Report Changes – Report „Project Expense Reassignment“ requires access rights for either the source or the target project.
o Error Handling – Failed financial postings to „finished“ project tasks now lead to the creation of business tasks.
Built-in Analytics
- Consume / Monitor Corporate Dashboards – Business user can consume dashboards shared with them via business roles.
- Interactive Analysis Options – New Analysis Options in Charts and Tables.
- Manage Corporate Dashboards – Key users can define dashboards centrally.
- Enhanced Formula Calculations/Simulations – Formulas can now include dynamic Inputs and Parameters.
- Search KPIs and Reports in Combined List – Improved KPI and Report Search within Insights Work Center.
- New OData Push Service to Upload Data – Upload data into your cloud data source via OData Push Service.

• NEW
o Google Search Integration – You can now use Google Search within SAP Business ByDesign.
o Customer Language Adaptation Tool – The tool enables you to translate selected Work Centers.
o Mobility – Managers and employees in marketing, sales, & service can see and create follow-ups for customers and use self-services for analytics and leave requests on the smartphone.
o Enabling Monitoring of Statistics of Incoming Synchronous Service Requests – It is now possible to monitor statistics on inbound synchronous service requests in the tenant
o Supplier Approval – As of now, you can define in Scoping whether you want to use the Supplier Approval process.
o Deletion of Technical Objects (Print Queue) based on Retention Period – As of now, you can define in Scoping whether you want to use the Supplier Approval process.
o Duplicate Channels in Multichannel – You can now mark channels as duplicate in case multichannel is enabled.
o Owned By and User Category Fields – You can now see the columns Owned By and User Category that will give the details of support and technical users that are SAP relevant or customer relevant.
o Reset Work Center Order – Now you can reset the reordered work center in the shell menu by performing a right click on the Hamburger button and by selecting Reset Work Center Order.
o Creation of New Tabs – Now you can create new tabs via Personalization and Adaptation modes.
o Support for Color Picker in Background Color Settings – Now you can pick your desired background color from the new color picker available in background color settings in Adaptation and Personalization modes.
o Improvements in Extension Field Further Usage – Below tabs are now introduced in the Show Further Usage of Extension Field in Adaptation mode.
o Recent and Frequent Value Suggestion in Value Help – You can now leverage the new set of value help suggestions list that contains the recently and frequently used values at top of the standard suggestion list.
o Additional Data Manipulation Actions Introduced in Data Mashup – You can now manipulate data in Data Mashup using the new set of actions.

o Add Public Sticky Note Directly – You can now add public sticky notes directly to the business documents by selecting Add Public Note from the Sticky Note menu.
o Request Logon Certificate no Longer Supported – The Request Logon Certificate on Manage Certificate view of the Me Area is now disabled. Browsers have stopped providing the certificate for log-in and hence, you will not be able to download it from the browser.
o Automated Run Scheduling – For test systems, when you define recurrence frequency of an Automated Run, the system will now default the end date to 30 days from the specified start date.
Compliance
- Automatically block usage of natural persons data – Data privacy officers can block the usage of data stored for natural persons to avoid that data can be used for new business processes.
Supply Chain Management
- New Product Availability Check Scope – Additional Availability Check Scope to differentiate between purchase orders and purchase acknowledgements in the availability check.

- Pricing Exclusion – Business user can exclude the price components discount, surcharge and freight.
- Copy Invoice Schedule to Open Invoice Schedule Items – You can now copy all the information from selected open invoice schedule item to other open invoice schedule items (Blog).
- Contract Approval – You can now use the approval process for contracts.Contract as a follow up from an opportunity. You can create a contract as a follow up from an opportunity.
- Contract Header Data Source Enhancements – You can now analyze contract characteristics by making use of the header data source CRMCCOHB.

o Employee Central Integration: Phased Approach – Inbuilt point-to-point integration with Employee Central for the scenario where Business ByDesign Personnel Administration was initially used for Employee Maintenance.
o New Report – New Employee Master data report that allows extraction of employee personnel administration master data based on a key date or key date period.
• CHANGED
o Employee Migration – Personnel Administration and Compensation migration service can be used under the rehire scenario, where groups of employees are rehired to a new company.
Localization
• USA
o Enhancements in Integration with External Tax Providers – Vertex and Avalara – Since the United States has wide range of Jurisdictions and therefore tax rules, a seamless integration with an external tax provider makes the task of getting accurate taxes much easy.
• Italy
o Enablement of canceling customer invoice and credit memo – You can now cancel released customer invoice and credit memo. New status for the canceled invoice and memo becomes Released Canceled. A new invoice gets created with reference details of canceled customer invoice and credit memo.
o Down Payment Request – In Italy, down payment is allowed only for gross amount. It can created by Customer Invoicing, Supplier Invoicing and Sales Order work centres.
o Journal Entry Report – Splitting journal entries to multiple PDF forms – The form output of the Journal Entry report is now split into multiple PDF forms depending on the threshold volume.
o Reverse Charge Domestic Register – Documents posted with reverse charge relevant tax events will now be included in the Reverse Charge Domestic Register.
o Reverse Charge Register for EU and Non–EU Transactions – In Italy, based on the EU or Non- EU transactions, documents posted with reverse charge relevant tax events will now be included in Input VAT EC Register and the Input VAT Extra EC Register respectively.
o Spesometro Tax Return – In Italy, you can now classify if the supplier is a natural person.
• China
o Golden Tax – Golden Tax Invoice Type field value is of 12 digit and not 10 anymore, for Normal Invoice.
• Finland
o Mileage and meal per diem rate changes – From January 1, 2019, mileage rates and meal per diem rates are changed.
• Malaysia
o Sales and Service Tax – In Malaysia, with the introduction of the Sales and Services Tax (SST), the base amount for the withholding tax calculation is changed from net amount to gross amount.
• Austria
o Accomodation (lodging) per diem and receipts changes – From November 1, 2018, 10% VAT is levied on lodging/accommodation per diem, which includes housing and breakfast expense.
